Gumdrop Bridge Building Competition Welcome Ephesus!!! Gumdrop Bridge Building Competition

Objective Build a structure that spans between the 8 inch gap in the tables using the least amount of materials and supports the most amount of weight.

Procedure A. Work with your assigned team B. Brainstorm a strategy to meet the objective C. Agree on a design for the bridge D. BUILD IT! E. Test your design, update as needed F. Final Demonstration

Materials Box of Gumdrops Bag of Toothpicks Measuring Cup Assembly (String, paper clips and cup) Note: You cannot use the box as part of your bridge (nice try though). Nor can you disassemble the cup.

Regulations Don’t eat your resources! (At least until you’re finished with the design) Bridge must span between tables Teams may choose where the cup is placed on their structure Once the cup is in place your bridge must hold up the weight of the remaining gum drops. Once the build time is completed, don’t touch or modify your design in any way or you could be disqualified Have Fun!
