Rosemary Barker Aragon, PDG D 5030 PNWPETS 2019 OPCOM Chair PETS ELECTIVES Rosemary Barker Aragon, PDG D 5030 PNWPETS 2019 OPCOM Chair

WHY DO WE HAVE ELECTIVES? DGE’s have asked PE’s Evaluations tell us they this was info they needed, at this time Don’t have time to cover in core PETS training Deeper dive ? Always have had them We think the PE’s need to know this We KNOW that PE’s are looking for this information---now that their year is facing them Our DGE’s (Board) have asked for this additional content—because they were not able to get this info to the PE’s (yes, to committee chairs—but not PE’s)

EVALUATING THE DEMAND? # attendees? Satisfaction-Value? Part of PETS overall post survey JIT survey DGE survey several months into Rotary year (Oct?) Most popular electives Newer Rotarian PE? All PE Revitalizing my club X Club Operations Rotary 101 Effective Club Meetings

WHO ARE OUR CUSTOMERS? Brand new Rotarian PE Knowledgeable PE, wanting deeper dive All PE’s---want the practical stuff . Experienced PE’s---who want a deeper dive/more significant actionable content for them as they prepare to be a PE Brand new PE’s

FOUNDATIONAL TOPICS ROTARY 101 (bylaws, insurance, etc.) Club Operations (committees, board) Running effective meetings Goal Setting Risk Management (basic legal, accounting and insurance issues)

ADVANCED TOPICS? Fundraising Creating People of Action campaigns/images Telling your story thru video Motivating volunteers Leading a team of volunteers Leading people of all ages

DIFFICULT TOPICS? Satellite clubs, Passport clubs---help my club or hurt it? Do I have a problem? Making my club welcoming to people of different religions, gender, color, sexual preference On being President again, & again—burn out?
