Job Performance Requirement 10-32 Extending a Hoseline Using a Hose Clamp

A The clamp and additional hose are brought up to the nozzle end of the hose. Clamping a hose can be dangerous, so firefighters need to ensure that the clamp is safely operated and is fully locked before releasing the clamp. The firefighter is positioned to the side of the clamp to prevent injury if it slips. The hoseline is clamped just before the nozzle. JPR 10-32A

B Remove the nozzle. The additional line is attached as is the nozzle and the line is then advanced. When water is called for, a firefighter removes the hose clamp. JPR 10-32B
