Program Requirements MA Program Principal Field: 9 Hours Second Field: 6 hours Required Seminars (POLI 7961, 7962): 6 hours Professional development seminar (POLI 7000): 1 hour Electives/minor field: 6 hours Thesis: 6-9 hours PhD Program Principal Field: 15 Hours Second Field: 12 hours Required Seminars (POLI 7961, 7962, 7963 ): 9 hours Electives/minor field: 6-18 hours Dissertation: 9-18 hours
Application Requirements Completed the B.A. or M.A. in political science with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale) in undergraduate or graduate course work. A score on the verbal section of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) in the 55th percentile or above. A score on the quantitative section of the GRE in the 45th percentile or above. Three letters of recommendation from professors familiar with their work.
