Strategies to Guide, Motivate and Facilitate Change Promote adoption of quality standards and quality measurement Identify and promote the adoption of effective practices, models and tools Promote policy change and facilitate adequate reimbursement Models & Tools Our program employs three strategies: First, we are helping clinicians adopt more efficient and effective ways to provide preventive care. To support the changes in clinicians’ behaviors implicit in our first strategy, we are encouraging the adoption and implementation of standards for preventive care. And we are supportive of policies -- federal, state and industry policies -- that facilitate adopting these new ways of practicing, including policies that align incentives with good practice. For example, we would like to encourage more individualization of developmental services and preventive care and tie that to differential reimbursement. Our intention is to make it so easy and efficient that practices cannot help but provide high quality care. Standards & Measurement Policy & Payment THE COMMONWEALTH FUND
