Our Service Area

What would you pay for a second chance at life?

Our Mission To provide medical transport for the critically ill or injured persons requiring medical or trauma facilities within our South Texas service area. Emergency assistance is provided to all persons regardless of their ability to pay. This is our mission…..This is our promise.

Here to serve you since 1987. HALO-Flight’s service area covers 26 counties, 28,000 square miles and a population of more than 1.5 million. Based in Corpus Christi, and in conjunction with regional trauma centers, EMS, & law enforcement agencies, HALO-Flight provides the quickest response time and highest quality of care to the critically ill and injured.

What is included in the Plan? Subscribers are charged no out-of-pocket expenses for HALO-Flight transports deemed medically necessary. Coverage anywhere in our 26 county service area and that of our reciprocal partners-Dallas CareFlite. Subscriber coverage for all enrolled family members who live in the same household and are listed on the application. (Includes dependent, custodial and non-custodial children)

How does the Guardian Plan help? An average air ambulance helicopter transport exceeds $30,000. For all flight’s deemed medically necessary, HALO-Flight will bill the patient or their insurance a $20,000 lift-off fee and $100 per patient mile. As a Guardian Subscription Member, if you or your family require our service, your insurance (if any) would be billed and HALO-Flight would accept that as payment in full. If you are a member of the plan and do not have insurance, you won't receive a bill.

Tragedy. We never think it will happen to us! Air Ambulance Medical Transport to CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital - Memorial (Corpus Christi’s Level 2 trauma facility) Transport costs are approximate. Helicopter Transport from Alice, Texas - $14,600 Insurance Pay-Out (40%) -$5,840 (Average Insurance Pay-Out 30-50%) Patient without Guardian Membership’s Responsibility- $8,760 Helicopter Transport from Pettus, Texas - $14,600 Guardian Member’s Responsibility- $0 Protect your financial FREEDOM.

What does all this cost? Individual Memberships cover the entire household for $35 annually or $150 for 5 years. Business, Utility Members and Annual Entities are also eligible for group memberships. Ranch Agreements cover households and/or guests at $35 for each type of Membership annually.* The Federal Government prohibits the sale of Guardian Memberships to Medicaid recipients; however emergency medical services are provided to anyone. * A one-time landing zone establishment fee of $100 is assessed for new Ranch Plan Members.

Don’t Compound Accidents Christian Schultz, a current HALO-Flight Guardian Member, knows first hand the true value of this membership. Schultz was in an accident that required him to be airlifted by HALO-Flight’s reciprocal partner, San Antonio AirLIFE. Schultz paid no out-of-pocket expenses for his transport. Schultz’s significant other, Anne Holt, explains, “The helicopter saved his life!”  Holt immediately spread the word to her family who now has memberships as well. www.haloflight.org
