 What is self confidence.  Types of self confidence.  A brief self test.  Factors effecting self confidence.  How to Improve self confidence.

 Self-confidence is the knowledge that you can do something and do it well. Self confidence comes from firsthand knowledge of the task at hand, knowing your strengths and weaknesses, applying your skills to any situation. Self confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives.

 Self-confidence is a term used to describe how secure a person is in his own decisions and actions & How free he is from doubts.  The concept of self-confidence self- assurance in one's personal judgment, ability, power, etc. One's self confidence increases from experiences of having mastered particular activities.power  Confidence is not ’they will like me’. Confidence is ’I will be fine even if they don’t.’

 Low Self Confidence.  Optimal Self confidence.  Over Confidence

 Staying in your comfort zone, fearing failure and so avoid taking risks. Governing your behavior based on what other people think. Working hard to cover up mistakes and hoping that you can fix the problem before anyone notices  Low self confidence is characterized by a lack of confidence and feeling badly about oneself. People with low self-esteem often feel unlovable, awkward, or incompetent.

 Withdrawn/shy/quiet  Insecure  Underachieving  Negative (attitude)  Unhappy  Socially inept  Angry/hostile  Unmotivated  Depressed  Dependent/follower  Poor self-image  Non-risk-taker  Lacks self-confidence  Poor communication  Acts out

 The good news is that it is entirely possible to overcome low self-esteem! There are two key components to combatting this negative self- image. The first is to stop listening to your critical inner voice. The second is to start practicing self-compassion.  Stop Listening to Your Inner Critic.  It decimates our self confidence on a consistent basis with thoughts like

 “You’re stupid.”  “You’re fat.”  “Nobody likes you.”  “Why can’t you be like other people?”  “You’re worthless.”

 Self-confidence is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet so many people struggle to find it. People who lack self- confidence can find it difficult to become successful. Self-confident people inspire confidence in others.

 Often we come across people who are overconfident, i.e. egotistic and stubborn. Generally, these people have the so called “superiority complex” It is important to be confident but... Overconfidence makes you egoistic and irritating. Bragging about your qualities and achievements will not make you reach anywhere

 Overconfidence refers to a biased way of looking at a situation. When you are overconfident, you misjudge your value, opinion, beliefs or abilities and you have more confidence than you should given the objective parameters of the situation. Overconfidence Overconfidence is the mother of all psychological biases.

 Do you fear or fail to make mistakes?  Do you compare yourself with others?  Do you doubt your strength and abilities?  Do you feel bad, guilty, nervous and angry when you don’t get what you wanted?  Do you say “I am like that only or if I..?  Do you see yourself inferior than others?

 If any answer for these questions is “yes”... Then I say you are in a state of feeling “low confidence”!!!

 We often develop feeling of inferiority and lack of self confidence through various life experiences at home, or in our jobs.  Loss of a family member or a close friend. Or Break up of a relationship

 Talk to yourself

 Groom yourself

 Think positive
