FYI: The reading and vocabulary test for Romeo & Juliet, Act II, is TOMORROW. It’s your FINAL major grade for this grading period. The following is due today: Crossword puzzle and Cloze Review Closure activity Make sure you keep up with grades and assignments. If you’ve been absent or have missing grades, please be sure you complete all make-up work.

With a partner: 1. Complete the cloze summary and vocabulary review for Act II. These will be turned in for a grade today!

Closure: How were the printed and film version of Scenes 5-6 similar and different? Write your response in your RWN.

Warm up: test Set-up Pick up an answer document and write your name at the top. Turn off your phone then zip up all purses and backpacks and stow them under your desk. When your seat number is called, place your phone in the corresponding pocket and pick up a copy of the test. Phones will remain in the pockets until the end of class. Be sure you have all work from Monday and Tuesday ready to turn in (discussion questions, cloze summary, and vocabulary puzzle)!

FYI: We’ll begin Act III tomorrow. Be sure to keep up with all work. 

During the test: Do your own work. Only write on the answer document. Turn in the test and answer document when you finish. Begin reading and annotating Act III when you finish your test. Phones remain in the pockets until the end of the class period.

After the test (in RWN): Peter: a servant for the Capulets who inadvertently invites Romeo to the party where he meets Juliet. Traits: illiterate, goofy, good-humored Write a character’s name and an explanation of his or her role in the play. Draw a picture representation of the character (yes, stick figures are fine). Write at least three L2 traits beneath your illustration. Choose from the following characters: Romeo Juliet Mercutio Benvolio Tybalt Nurse Friar Lawrence Any other character of your choice 5. Repeat with a new character.
