Presentation transcript:

Friday 9.11.2012 2:47 stable beams fill 3273 Initial luminosity ~6.9e33 cm-2s-1 10:46 lost cold compressor in point 8 – preventive beam dump Integrated L ~126 pb-1 in 8 hours access: ALICE, ATLAS AND CMS Cryo QPS in point 6 for RB.A67 vacuum in point 6 ODH intervention in point 6 EPC for RCBV18.R1B1, RQTL10.R3B2, and point 5 for placing spares WCM in UX451 Gated BBQ B2; RF; BRANs in UJ83 IT for switch installation in US25 (ALICE request) problem on UJ16 PAD – repaired – area patrolled

Updates RF cavity software: A new version of the ALLLine FESA class has been installed to fix the problem with the coupler position getting stuck in one or more cavities after a crowbar. The work-around is that the switch-on procedure now does a reset on the coupler position interface board at each switch-on. A. Butterworth Last night’s problem with BPMWT IP5 expected to be solved: installing the up-to-date DAB firmware version CMS luminosity calibration updated: expecting the values to increase by 1-2%

Pending TOTEM tests at end of fill (separate CMS to reduce lumi by at least a factor of 10) - ~1 hour Slight tuning of tune splitting B1 (Vertical tune B1 trimmed down by 0.003) Following week(s): Set-up timing for gated tune measurement B2 Further increase ADT gain B1 during ramp (now that the tune is measured on the first 6 bunches, which are not damped by ADT) to reduce blow-up Loss maps (periodic) Heating test at 450 GeV (B. Salvant) TCP IR3 more closed (end of fill) Bunch length investigations (E. Shaposhnikova, M. Lamont) Tuning of the mask for abort gap/injection cleaning to try to reduce influence on the rest of the beam
