The role of the Maintenance Department Prevent Injuries Check the playground often/weekly? Check playgrounds safety issues.

Who can do Playground Inspection? Maintenance personnel can inspect Playground Equipment after proper training! Best inspection done by a Certified Playground Safety Inspector.

How often? Annually! Is the new playground equipment safe? Did you get a manual from the INSTALLER? Was it installed by a knowledgeable installer? Was it install by parents?

Why Playground Safety? 76% of injuries to children occur on public playground 44% of all injuries are caused by falls Estimated 200,000 emergency room treated injuries Children between 2-9 account for 83% of injuries

Where do I find information on what is safe and what is not?

What to do? Notify the Principal of any damage equipment. PTO Group! Check on insurance coverage. Make sure equipment is installed by Manufacturer Representative. Hire a CPSI inspector.
