Pronouns

What are pronouns? Pronouns take the place of nouns. The word or phrase replaced by a pronoun is called an antecedent.

Examples Tom is one of the best athletes in the school. He scored 5 goals in yesterday’s game. (Tom is a noun. He is a pronoun that refers to the antecedent, Tom.)

Pronouns Examples: I, me, my, mine, you, your, yours, he, him, his, she, her, hers, it, its, they, them, their, theirs, we, us, our, ours. Sentence examples: I want to give her the pencil. Their best game was last week.
