Who are we? OESC was formed in 2002 All 72 publicly funded school boards are members Designed to procure goods and services on behalf of all school boards Partners with The Ministry of Education and other organizations School boards opt into individual programs on a volunteer basis

School Energy Coalition What do we do? School Energy Coalition The School Energy Coalition (SEC), per OESC, is a respected intervenor at the Ontario Energy Board. The Coalition continues to provide an invaluable cost containment service to school boards across Ontario SEC has been instrumental in lowering Hydro One Transmission rates for schools in 2017-2018 and that will continue in the years to come Quarterly reports continue to be sent to all Boards. The primary recipients are the superintendents of operations and directors of education

Behaviour Management System What do we do? Behaviour Management System BMS continues to provide service and training to more than 75% of the school boards in Ontario It is the most popular and successful program in the province designed to help educators effectively manage student behaviour We continue to bring new Ontario school boards on board as well as providing service to other countries We are continuing to roll out our new Autism Awareness Program

What do we do? Compass for Success Compass for Success continues to be the provincial leader in student data warehouse and business intelligence solutions for school boards Compass continues to work with school boards on predictive analytics with an eye on improving outcomes for all students especially those most vulnerable to not graduating We are engaged in a new partnership with IBM which is expanding our reach to new school boards across the country Compass has developed a new electronic OSR transfer tool which will benefit every school board in Ontario

What do we do? Provincial Portal This is a valued discussion forum used by school boards during negotiations and as part of ongoing contract management Currently, all but seven boards and school authorities continue as partners on the portal All trustee associations have been working together to improve the portal and increase its usage An updated version of the site will be released within the next couple of months

Determination and Distribution Calculator What do we do? Determination and Distribution Calculator OESC was contracted by the Ministry of Education to develop a web- based resource which allows school districts to determine the number of eligible trustees and the appropriate distribution of trustees for each district in the municipal elections in the fall of 2018. The site was tested with the assistance of several school boards in November 2017 The website was launched in January 2018

What do we do? The TeachAble Project The TeachAble project began in 2014 with OPSPA as the lead partner Working with The Accessibility Directorate, OESC has updated resources to provide accessibility training to educators throughout Ontario The resources went live via website (https://theteachableproject.org/) in January 2018 A media campaign to increase awareness for school staff is underway

Resources for Multi-Year Strategic Planning: What do we do? Resources for Multi-Year Strategic Planning: OESC launched its Multi-Year Strategic Planning Program in October 2017. Working with the Ministry of Education, OESC is able to provide funding to support facilitated learning sessions for school boards at various stages of the strategic planning cycle A redeveloped training module along with videos was created to provide additional supports to school boards The Multi-Year Strategic Planning Portal was developed as a space for school boards to share and capture effective practices
