Presentation transcript:

Polyelectrolyte Micelles Solid phase sub-monomer synthetic techniques were used to synthesize sequence defined peptoid amphiphiles. By repeating acylation and amination steps from a resin, a peptoid is grown with a defined sequence. The peptoids were functionalized with a hydrocarbon chain to form the peptoid amphiphiles. The amphiphiles assemble into micellar structures in water. A library of sequences was synthesized to investigate the effect of the number and sequence of charged functional groups on the micellar structure. Synthesized amphiphiles will be characterized by small-angle neutron scattering. Garrett Sternhagen
