Welcome to TMS!

Where Teamwork Means Success

Classes Four minutes between each class Each class is about 70 minutes long Lunch—22 minutes Physical Activity Time—22 minutes 4 core classes Wheels classes vary

Language Arts Language Arts teachers: Reading Logs - Located in agenda Mrs. Botkin Mrs. Dove Mrs. Stenerson Reading Logs - Located in agenda - Required to read 30 minutes each night.

Language Arts—Summer Reading Choose a book to read from the Battle of the Books list. Complete a follow-up WIKI. See school website for more details or pick up a handout as you leave.

Math Teachers: -Mrs. Farmer -Mrs. McGuire -Mrs. Schmitz Students will have math homework Monday through Thursday.

Math—Summer Work Complete 10 hours of Study Island OR Complete a study packet (can be picked up from the school).

Science Science Teachers -Ms. Fennell -Mrs. Mooney-Hughes -Mrs. Schmitz Learn about topics ranging from plants and animals to the solar system!

STEM Expo All students will be required to complete a long term science project. Students will choose a question to investigate, perform an experiment and present data and results to classmates. Due dates for steps of the project will be available on the school website.

Social Studies Social Studies teachers: -Mrs. Smith -Mrs. Warren -Mrs. Stenerson History and geography of Europe and South America

Lockers 6th grade students will have a locker. Book bags are not allowed in the classrooms (must fit in locker). Cell phones and electronics must be secured in locker throughout school day. Locks must be issued through the school. Lost locks must be paid for at the end of the year.

Pirate Dollars 6th grade team only Positive Behavior System Earn field trips, rewards, parties etc. You must have enough “money” to earn the rewards Not an academic reward system, a behavioral one Don’t have to be on the honor roll to qualify

Agendas Purchase agenda at beginning of next year All students must have an agenda. Daily parental signatures required Used for student organization, but also parent-teacher communication

Sports Tennis is the only sport 6th graders can play School teams in 7th & 8th grades 6th graders may manage a sports team

T-Dap Shot All rising sixth graders must have the T-Dap shot.

Supply List Teachers have compiled a BASIC supply list for all sixth graders. Available on school website. Keep in mind that individual teachers may require additional supplies at the start of the school year.
