The operating regimes are defined by solar energy utilization efficiency (ηs =αηt, vertical axis) and SEC (horizontal axis) for STD (purple region), PV-MVC (dark green region), and PV-RO (green region). The dotted curves denote the iso-productivity curves of constant SWPs. The limits of SWP for the three regions are given by the iso-productivity curves bypassing the corners of the regions. Specifically, the green, dark green, and purple dotted curves refer to the limits of SWP for PV-RO, PV-MVC, and STD, respectively. Solar irradiance is assumed to be 1000 W m−2.
