Story of the Week: Babu’s Song Week 7 Sept 10, 2018 First Nine Wks Issue # 1 Mrs. Castellano's Class Homework Weekly Objectives As part of your 20 minutes reading time, please use istation; storyline online; bookflix: bkflix.Grolier.com-UN: jdrugan. PW: bookflix Monday– Read your fluency folder pages: 14 (time for one minute); Write spelling words three times each. Math: One page, one side. Please follow the order of the pages in the folder. Bring homework to school everyday. Tuesday– Read your fluency folder Pages: 14 (time for one minute). Write spelling words in ABC order. Math: One page, one side per week. Please follow the order of the pages in the folder. Wednesday- Read your fluency folder Pages: 14 (time for one minute); Write a sentence for all spelling words. Math: One page, one side. Please follow the order of the pages in the folder. Thursday- Read your fluency folder Pages: 14 (time for one minute); Ask parents to give you a practice spelling test. Practice the ones you missed. Write a sentence for all your vocabulary word. Math: One page, one side per week. Please follow the order of the pages in the folder. Friday-Tests on story of the week, spelling words, vocabulary words . I will send the tests on Friday. Please sign and return them. If you don’t get them, please write me a note in the agenda. Language Arts – Fiction & Non fiction, characters, setting, plot, Problem and solution, Parts of a book-glossary, table of contents, past tense endings, declarative and interrogative sentences, prepositions, plural nouns, author’s purpose. Math – Money. Coins. Practice counting at home. Science – Investigating Energy Social Studies – Pride in our community, 9-11. Spelling Words Pattern: Long a (ai, ay) pay, pail, snail, nail, jail, hay, May, stay, play, lay, bay, say, fail, mail, tail, rail, sail Vocabulary Words Story of the Week: Babu’s Song Exclaimed: Shouted or said something excited. Concern: To care or worry about something. Vendors: People who sell things or food. Figure: A drawing or model of something. Collection: A group of things you like to save or collect like rocks, marbles, cards. 3 More weeks of school left before fall break. Please no absences. Let’s make it count!!! I’m so proud of you! Istation: Every student received a letter about istation (in a sheet protector in agenda) and how to use it at home along with their passwords and progress on istation. Please have your children use it for support. It really works! Conference time: M,T,W from 9:35-10:00am. Please write a note in the agenda so that I can call you back. Thank you. Box tops and Price’s caps: Please continue sending  Please help check your child’s homework every day. I no longer have the extra time in the mornings since Superschool starts right at 7:45am.
