Past Continuous
In the Past Continuous, we use the helping verb BE (was/were) + verb ing . I was sleeping. They were sleeping.

What were you doing at 10 pm last night? The Past Continuous is used to talk about something in progress at a specific time in the past. What were you doing at 10 pm last night? I was eating pizza.
