Curriculum Forecast Bounce Green Group Numeracy Literacy Topic Green During this term we will be looking at position and direction and how we can solve puzzles involving directions. We will then be looking at sequences and patterns. We will then be looking at measuring and we shall focus on capacity and weight. We will look at comparing and ordering different weights and looking at measuring these using standard units. Our final focus will be on telling the time to the hour, half-past, quarter past and to and finally in the properties of 2D and 3D shapes. Literacy We will be looking at non-fiction writing and looking at developing well-structured answers and descriptions. We will then start to look at writing adverts for sports equipment and participate in role-play to back this up. We will then start to look at different forms of poetry and look to base this on our topic of sports. Topic This term, we will be finding out if we can hop, skip, run, jump and bounce! We’ll visit a soft play area or trampoline park and jump, wriggle, run and crawl, moving under and over, along and through play equipment. We’ll take part in a variety of sporting activities and see if practice makes perfect. Film clips, photographs and information books will help us to investigate how animals move, and we’ll find out how exercise can affect our bodies. We’ll investigate different artists and create a beautiful art piece for our classroom. We will be carrying out different scientific experiments observing bubbles, different balls and how they bounce and creating our own bouncy balls. The class will be exploring the life of the footballer, Pele, and what life was like for him as a child before going on to becoming world famous. Our sporting heroes will provide us with plenty of inspiration as we work together in teams and rely on each other to score points. The children will learn about sportsmanship and that playing games isn’t all about winning! Green
