Promoting quality & inclusive education VSO Nepal Education Programme

Major Changes 3 districts to 6 districts 2 clusters to 1 cluster (in each district) 2 management volunteers to 1 education management volunteer with revised job description (in each district) 2 ECD volunteers to 1 ECD volunteer (in each district) but number will depend on external funding 2 primary/basic education volunteers to 1 basic/primary education volunteer (in each district)

Implementing partners in 3 districts (Kaski, Kailali & Rupandehi) working in 12 schools, but volunteers in these districts will work in at least 6 schools Focus more on quality education and less focus on access

Implementing partners will support Baglung, Myagdi & Surkhet on request and based on their availability PPP pilot in Kaski and Kailali

Cross programming with livelihood and health –Cross program need: »Schools lack hygienic environment »Poor awareness of students on health, hygiene and nutrition »Poor health status of students »Most of school going children do not meet the Recommended Daily Allowance Gender as a key priority –Need to strengthen the position of girls and female teachers/managers: »Through school based support »Through non school based advocacy support (increase womens participation in school management level, targeted scholarship approach to reach needy girls instead of all)
