Presentation transcript:

Setting up a Laser Cutter Material placed on bed of laser. Laser focused to thickness of material. Settings applied – high speed/low power for engraving (black), low speed/high power for cutting (red). Settings sent/output from PC to laser. Need to mention extraction ( either extraction turned on or can be automatic). Work set to complete engraving operation first followed by cutting operation. Work removed from laser.

Setting up a CNC/CAM Router Set the datum point. Attach material to bed of router to ensure it doesn’t come loose. Set tool paths to the drawing. They will be set the radius of the tool away from the drawing. Set cutting depths. This is the amount the depth cuts per pass. Mention that with brittle materials like acrylic you have to cut in smaller depths (0.5mm) to prevent it snapping. Set cutting speeds. Feed rate of the cut must be set to ensure that tool does not snap in harder materials.
