Word of the day Set Two

Grateful (adjective) Definition: Feeling or showing an appreciation of kindness; thankful. Sentence: I'm very grateful to you for all your help.

Perseverance (NOUN) Definition: Steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. Sentence: It takes planning and perseverance to be successful.

Maintenance (NOUN) Definition: The process of maintaining or preserving someone or something, or the state of being maintained. Sentence: Routine maintenance of the garden consists of keeping weeds under control.

Dismal (adjective) Definition: Causing gloom or dejection; gloomy; dreary; cheerless;  melancholy. Sentence: The dismal weather made the late afternoon seem like evening.

BLUDGEONING (VERB) Definition: To force into something; coerce; bully. Sentence: The boss finally bludgeoned him into accepting responsibilit y.

Plummet (VERB) Definition: Fall or drop straight down at high speed. Sentence: The jet burst into flames and plummeted to the ground.

INDOLENT (ADJECTIVE) Definition: Having or showing a disposition to avoid exertion; lazy. Sentence: Jackson lost his job because he was an indolent employee.

TENEMENT (NOUN) Definition: A run-down and often overcrowded apartment house, especially in a poor section of a large city. Sentence: She grew up in a crowded tenement.

DIMENSION (NOUN) Definition: A particular dimension of something is a particular aspect of it. Sentence: This adds a new dimension to our work.
