FOOD WEB & FOOD CHAIN Show transfer of energy through out an ecosystem. Trophic Level- position on food chain. Trophic Levels 1. Producer 2. Consumer 3. Decomposer

Producers Create their own energy from sunlight. (Autotrophs) Bottom of food chain/Most Energy All other life depend on producers

Consumers Types of Consumers Herbivore- Plant Eater Carnivore- Meat Eater Omnivore- Plant & Meat Eater *Hunt, Gather & Store Organisms that can not make their own food so they EAT. (Heterotroph)

Herbivores Insects Rabbits Deer

Carnivores Lions Tigers Hawks

Omnivores Humans Bears

Energy Prey- organism being hunted Predator- organism doing hunting. Arrow points from prey to predator- shows transfer of energy

Food Web

Decomposers Feed on dead or decaying organisms. Return nutrients back into soil so producers. Examples: Fungi Worms Bacteria
