IH Professional Pathway Program Introducing… IH Professional Pathway Program AIHA's *Award-winning* IH Professional Pathway program is designed to: Help IH and OH professionals better understand their career options Serve as a cool public education tool for kids in STEM programs to connect with the heroic aspects of what IH professionals do Act as a member outreach and engagement tool.

IH Professional Pathway Program Each stage of an IH professional's career can be defined by an individual's knowledge area, career track, and stage of progression. Student Early Career Professional Senior Professional Each stage of an IH professional's career can be defined by an individual's knowledge area, career track, and stage of progression. Knowledge areas, combined with specific tracks, provide an understanding of what each career pathway may look like for an industrial hygienist. For now, AIHA has come up with the following career stages for the industrial hygiene profession. We have: Student/Intern: Generally new to IH, a student or intern is just beginning their first forays into the career. Second, we have the Early Career Professionals. They have completed their initial education and training regimes and are generally within the first five years of their career path Third, we have an IH professional. This person has or is on their way to become a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and has spent a few years within the industry. Often, they are in a managerial  position or oversee one or more projects, and are active within the IH community. Last , we have a Senior Professional. This is someone who has moved into a more leadership-oriented role and are considered at the top of the IH pathway. They are considered experts in their field and their actions often have worldwide impact within the industry AIHA is currently working on new services and products to each of these career stages including a new self-assessment tool.
