INDIANA OFFICE OF ENERGY & DEFENSE DEVELOPMENT STATE & REGIONAL ASSISTANCE The Office of Energy and Defense Development (OED) was established to enhance Indianas potential for links in energy and defense for economic development and national security.

Capitol, Suite 600, Indianapolis, IN Indianas Commitment Both OED and ISDA are committed to assisting farmers, producers and food processors in identifying and placing the most feasible technologies to suit the needs of the operation Indianas Administration is committed to making Indiana a leader in the utilization of new energy technologies to provide value to waste products, to utilize the states current assets and to generate electricity in an environmentally friendly and safe manner

Capitol, Suite 600, Indianapolis, IN Examples such as BioTown, USA illustrate the initiatives that Indiana is taking to better understand and pilot new methodologies in the generation of electricity and natural gas Indianas Commitment OED and ISDA will continue to work with firms such as the Midwest CHP Application Center to provide the proper resources and information to those interested in new and alternative technologies

Capitol, Suite 600, Indianapolis, IN U.S. Farm Bill – Section 9006 Applications on Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvement Grants The U.S. Department of Agriculture anticipates that this program will help farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses reduce energy costs and consumption and help the nation meet its energy needs. The program will also help support and stimulate rural economic development by helping agricultural producers and small businesses create new sources of income, to create new jobs, and to create new uses for agricultural products and wastes.

Capitol, Suite 600, Indianapolis, IN U.S. Farm Bill – Section 9006 Applications on Renewable Energy Systems and Energy Efficiency Improvement Grants Section 9006 is expected to be made available again this coming year (FY 2006 – 2007) In an effort to provide the greatest assistance to those interested in applying, workshops will be held months in advance of these applications being due OED and ISDA will work closely with USDA to provide technical assistance in completing successful applications for both the grants and loans
