Presentation transcript:

(1) Prokaryotic Cells (Bacteria)

(2) Control Center? No Nucleus Genetic Information (DNA) is “bunched up” in the cytoplasm

(3) Organelles Organelles are not surrounded by any membranes They do have RIBOSOMES though!

(4) Genetic Information DNA is circular A long molecule, shaped like a rubber band

(5) Type of Cells? Bacteria!

(6) Eukaryotic Cells (plants and animals)

(7) Control Center Nucleus is in the center of the cell Controls all cell activities Easy to see!

(8) Organelles Surrounded by membranes You can distinguish them from each other Separate structures

(9) Genetic Information DNA is linear It is stored in the nucleus

(10) Type of Cells? Anything But Bacteria! Plants, Animals, Fungi, and Protists
