TRAFFIC AND ROAD SAFETY

ROAD SAFETY Road traffic safety refers to the methods and measures used to prevent road users from being killed or seriously injured. Road users include: pedestrians, cyclists, motorists, vehicle passengers, and bus riders.

Why is Road Safety Important? Children and young people are at risk on the roads. We all need to learn to use the road responsibily. Road safety education plays an important role in shaping the attitudes and behaviors of children and young people.

Pedestrian Walk Signal The WALK signal is found at busy intersections. It means that it is OKAY for you to cross the street.

Pedestrian Do Not Walk Signal The DO NOT WALK signal is a picture of a red hand, meaning you should STOP.

Pedestrain Crosswalk Always WALK on the Zebra crossing Do NOT dash across the street Do NOT run across the Street
