JACEP 2017;j.jacep.2017.03.009 Brain MR Images in a Patient With Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease A 65-year-old man who experienced mental status changes for several months visited 2 major academic centers, with each noting an MRI was necessary but they were unable to be performed due to the pacemaker. MRI demonstrated restricted diffusion involving the bilateral cortex and the left basal ganglia greater than the right basal ganglia. The diagnosis of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease was made within 30 min of completion of the scan, providing a uniform, albeit unfortunate, diagnosis. Abbreviation as in Figure 1. Huma Samar et al.
