Process of the Working Group Working group members volunteered for assignment in four subgroups: 1.Mechanism and triggering of functional decline/Aging in HIV-infected persons 2.Biomarkers and clinical indices as predictors/Surrogate outcome markers 3.Aging with HIV infection: Multi-morbidity and the clinical research agenda 4.Societal infrastructure, mental health/substance abuse, and care giving issues

Task to Subgroups 1.Summarize knowledge and state the problem in research area 2.Identify priority research areas 3.Point out specific knowledge gaps 4.Suggest types of research funding needed in each area Final report crafted from each subgroup report and prepared for publication as JAIDS supplement
