Global History & Geography Framework-Based Regents Examination 1750 C.E. to the Present

Examinations and Tests There are Two (2) examinations for the course: The Final Examination in January 2020 The Regents Examination in June 2020 Tests will be monthly and will be posted on the school calendar All tests will have review sheets

The New Examination in June Part I – 28 x stimulus based Multiple Choice Questions (54% of exam grade) Part II – Constructive Response Questions (CRQ’s) Two Sets documents (17% of exam grade) Part III – Enduring Issues Essay based on Five documents (29% of exam grade) Regular time allowed for this examination is 3 hours.

The Syllabus The majority of the required lessons, including the course syllabus can be found on the Global (10) section on my website. The Link is: https://www.hursthistory.org/global-10.html The main page has sub-sections that cover units 10.1 to 10.10 Bookmark this website and familiarize yourself with how it works as it will be used on a daily basis.

Supplies Each student will have a textbook World History in their locker Take it home as a reference, it will NOT be needed for class Later in the year all students will receive a review book (Prentice Hall) Each student will need a sturdy folder or binder for handouts Each student will need both pens and pencils Note: ALL written assignments will be in PEN (black or blue ink)

Note Taking There will be notes during EVERY class. I do not have a preference, either iPad or hand-written The most important part is that you are organized!

Ready to Start? Before we begin the curriculum we have to review a great deal of 9th grade material as a full understanding of this is necessary to comprehend the continuities and changes of events that start around 1750 C.E. Final words Be on time, be prepared for class, do not be afraid to ask questions on what you do not know, you may not be the only one! If you are going to be absent for more than two days, you must let me know in advance as this course will go at a quick pace.
