The object pronoun goes BEFORE the INFINITIVE in a sentence when there is a conjugated verb followed by an infinitive. Example: Il va parler à toi. Il va te parler.
Placement of Object Pronouns Object pronouns go in two places in a sentence or question: Before a conjugated verb Example: Je te parle. Je ne te parle pas. b) Before an infinitive Example: Je vais te parler. Je ne vais pas te parler.
Example: Je n’écoute pas au prof. Je ne lui écoute pas. In a negative sentence, the ne…pas goes around the conjugated verb and the object pronoun goes before the infinitive. Object pronouns in commands In an affirmative command, the object pronoun goes AFTER the verb and is preceded by a hyphen. Example: Donne-moi un bonbon! Envoyez-lui la lettre! In a negative command, the object pronoun goes before the conjugated verb. Example: Ne me donne pas de bonbon! Ne lui envoyez pas la lettre!
