Balloon Kraft Race

Newton Third law of motion

Let’s race a balloon! The purpose is to figure out how much mass you can add to shoot a balloon a distance, using the fishing line as a track for the balloon to follow. You MUST add some mass. Consider how much weigh you can carry in the cargo for extra points and still obtain maximum distance. Every cm traveled is 1 point. for you to apply and Identify Newton's laws in motion with the Balloon Race challenge.

Materials: Your choice of a balloon Materials: Your choice of a balloon. Cargo carrier, tape, straw, track (fishing line) , clothes pin, and pennies. Procedure: Blow up your balloon to the desired size, and pinch off the mouth. Use the cloth pin to keep it shut. The straw should be taped to the balloon. Now wrap the cargo holder around the balloon and place a small piece of take to hold it in place. Release the balloon for flight. If you balloon burst during TESTING get another one. Attach your balloon to the straw Competition rules: Your balloon must travel at least 1 M in order to accumulate points. If you balloon burst you are Disqualified. You can add as many washers as you like. Each washer is an additional 10pts. But remember you must travel at least 1M for the points to count. Each time gets two competition runs. You have a 5 minute TEST trial. GOOD LUCK!
