A is for Albert the Bull This statue was made because of “ Operation T-bone” . He was named after a real bull named Albert. It is one big replica of a Hereford bull.
B is For Black Hawk When Chief Black Hawk was very young he became a brave. Black Hawk was a War Chief who led his Sauk tribe to war. He went to prison for fighting for his land in Iowa. He refusedto give in without a fight.
Corn is maize. Corn is best grown in Iowa because of our rich soil. C is for Corn
D is for dodge house Genral Grenville M. Dodge was called “GREATEST RAILROAD BUILDER”. Grenville Dodge built his house in 1869. It has 14 rooms and 3 stories. This house is at 605 Third Street.
E is for Eastern goldfinch The eastern goldfinch is Iowa’s state bird. It is black and yellow. It is also Hawkeye colors.
Farming has been in Iowa for many years Farming has been in Iowa for many years. It is the best thing we have,because of our soil. We farm a lot of things like corn, beans, and hay. F IS FOR FARMING
G IS FOR GEODE The geode is Iowa’s state rock. It has crystals inside,but it looks like a rock on the outside. It is hard to find because it looks so much like a rock.
H IS FOR HAWKEYES Hawkeyes are one of Iowa’s 2 teams. They’re my favorite team. There team colors are black and gold or black and yellow.
4 giant glaciers slid over Iowa during the iceage flattening all of the plants,grass,and trees that covered it. Now tall grass grows there. I IS FOR ICE AGE
J IS FOR JOHN DEERE In 1837 John Deere invented the plow. That plow was pulled by cows or horses, and now we have electric plows or plows pulled by tractors.
K IS FOR KETTLE CORN Kettle Corn is made of yellow corn kernels, vegetable oil, brown sugar, and salt. Mostly cooked on a stove.

N IS FOR NOAMAN BORLAUG Norman was born on March 25, 1914, and died on September 12, 2009. he was a figure in the “ green revolution”. He also got “The Noble Peace Prize” in 1970.
O IS FOR OKOBOJI Okoboji is a city in Iowa. My family visits there once and a while. It is pretty there.
P IS FOR PRARIE Iowa was covered in giant praries ,but now it is mostly cities. Praries are endless grasslands.
Q IS FOR QUAIL Quail can live anywhere if the climate is suitable. They like where farmer’s fields are. Quail can fly for long distances.
R IS FOR RAILROADS There are 3 different kinds of carriers they are Common freights, Private freights, and Passenger carriers. The tracks are made of iron.
S IS FOR SEASONS Iowa has all 4 seasons. They’re Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer.
T IS FOR THOMAS EDISON Thomas Edison invented the light bulb. We all have at least 1 light bulb in America.
U is for Underwood Underwood is a city in Iowa. That’s where I go to school.
V IS FOR VOLLEYBALL Volleyball is where you hit a ball in the air back and forth across a net. It is what I play.
W IS FOR WILD ROSE The Wild Rose is Iowa’s state flower. The most common color is pink.
X IS FOR XENIA WATER DISTRICT The Xenia Water District is a water purifing company. They want to provide excellent servace.
Y IS FOR Y.M.C.A The Y.M.C.A is a workout place, many people go there. I used to take swimming lessons there.
