University program board (UPB) Information Session

What is UPB? UPB is ST. cloud state’s student-led programming organization. It is made up of student leaders that plan events for the entire student body. UPB provides programs and activities that are entertaining, educational, and diverse that complement college experience

Mission Vision Through engaging student at st. cloud state university, the university program board (UPB) provides activities that enhance learning an personal development. These activities are educational, diverse, entertaining and designed to complement the college experience while serving the campus community The university program board will be recognized as the center for university-wide event planning, working in collaboration with student organizations, academic departments, faculty members, community agencies and other entities t support the mission of st. cloud state university. We will work to ensure the development of upb membership and events which reflect and support the diversity on campus. Through our event planning, we will help create a sense of belonging on campus and inspire student to devote time and energy to educationally purposeful activities both inside and outside the classroom.

Purpose of Upb To develop organize implement evaluate programs which serve the cultural, educational, recreational, and social interests of SCSu and the surrounding community To Support the development of Leadership Interpersonal skills Upb is a programming organization, not a funding organization. Therefore, when UPB committees are involved n co- sponsorships of any kind, the UPB committee will work to develop programming skills with those entities that we co- sponsor with and take a lead role in contractual agreements and mutually agreed upon aspects of a program

Upb structure Upb is made up of six programming committees that plan events throughout the school year. Upb is always looking for dedicated student leaders looking for impactful involvement experience to get involved in committees. Upb broad lead by executive members which includes the president, the Vice-president of internal, and the vice-president of external. They are responsible for driving the entire board to achieve upb goals and expectation following the missions and vision, looking after member relations, representing upb in different platforms, marketing and the well being of the board as a whole.

Programming committees films Huskies after dark Husky pride & spirit This committee is responsible for programming variety of films to be made available at no cost to the campus community. IN addition, they program other film related events that include, but are not limited to, speakers, outdoor movies and amateur filmmaker showcases. This committee is responsible for programming late night events after 9 p.p. including but not limited to the weekend “Atwood After dark” and halenbeck after dark” series, novelty activities, showcasing performers, crafts, food, and dance parties. This committees is responsible for programming in collaboration with others to build community, foster campus spirit, and promote scsu pride. The committee is responsible for the husky spirit challenge week, husky bingo, and other husky pride initiatives.

Programming committees Live entertainment National events Special events This committee is responsible for programming a variety of event for campus: these event include performing arts, musical artists, comedians, and other live entertainment, both contracted artists and student performers. This committee is responsible for programming large-scale nationally know and recognized artist, bands comedians and speakers that appeal to wider st. cloud state community. This committee is responsible for large collaborative programs that include, but not limited to the annual blizzardshack and huskypalooza programs. In addition the committee is also responsible for monthly late skates.
