Labour Market Information and what it means to YOU!

Information – Data, statistics, facts What is LMI? Labour – People Market – Employers Information – Data, statistics, facts Information about job opportunities and what your competition looks like. (locally and further afield, now and in the future, in learning and in work.)

Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly have identified ten industries that the local authority think will grow in jobs and opportunities. They are…….

The reason they think the industries are opportunities, is because the rest of the world want to work with Cornwall! All the industries can be exported around the world!

What do all of these have in common? Why are they key industries? Creative industries – it’s growing at twice the rate of the UK Economy! Space – there’s going to be a spaceport and launcher project by 2030 in the UK and Cornwall wants it to happen here! Energy – Cornwall and Isles of Scilly have always been the forefront of the UK’s exploration Agri-food – the UK exports food and drink in excess of £20 billion and Cornwall is leading the way! Tourism - £127 billion annually to the UK economy with a growth projected at 3.8% - one of Cornwall’s biggest assets! Marine – Adds £500m to the region’s GDP and 1,700 employed in this sector! Mining – Minerals such as china clay, Elvan, Serpentine, Slate, Granite, Sandstone and Lithium are all in demand across the globe Aerospace – we have the UK’s fastest growing airport at Newquay airport with one of the countrie’s longest runways! eHealth – emerging technologies offers a way to revolutionise and without world class digital economy Cornwall can support this growth! Location – With great culture, excellent digital connectivity and offering great work/life balance opportunities Cornwall has it all. What do all of these have in common?
