BASIC VOLUTEER SECURITY TRAINING FOR WINNERS CHAPEL INTERNATIONAL,CALGARY. SECURITY TEAM PRESENTED BY PST. ABRAHAM OLAYIOYE

M ISSION AND VISION OF SECURITY TEAM MISSION To create a volunteering partnership with our Church, Utilizing our Strengths and unique ability and knowledge, while providing a safe and Secure Working and worship environment. VISSION Provide outstanding services with competitive edge advantage. Provide specialized plans to meet each Church’s needs. Work as a partnership with our Church and members. Use state of the art technology to maximize security service Provide the highest quality armed and unarmed security officers, executive And personal protection, and patrol services throughout Our Church services.

DUTY OF SECURITY TEAM MEMBERS 1. As a security volunteer, our fundamental duty is to serve the interest or mission of our organization in compliance with the term of engagement entered into with our organization for the people we are supposed to serve. 2. He shall be honest in thoughts and deeds both in his personal and official actuations, obeying the law of the land and the regulations prescribed by his agency and those established by the Church/Organization he is supposed to protect. 3. He shall not reveal any confidential matter that is confided to him as security guard and such other matters imposed upon him by law. 4. He shall act at all times with decorum and shall not permit personal feelings, prejudices and undue friendship to influence his actuation in the performance of his official functions. 5. He shall not compromise with criminals and other lawless elements to the prejudice of the organization/Church or his members but assist government in its relentless drive against lawlessness and other forms of criminality. 6. He must carry his assigned duties as security guard or watchman as required by law to the best of his ability and safeguard life and property to the establishment he is assigned.

DUTY OF SECURITY TEAM MEMBERS CONTD. 7. He shall wear his uniform, badge, patches and insignia properly as a symbol of public trust and confidence as an honest and trustworthy security guard, watchman and VOLUTEER detective. 8. He must keep his allegiance first to the government, to the Church he is and to the establishment he is assigned to serve with loyalty and dedicated service. 9. He shall diligently and progressively familiarize himself with the rules and regulations laid down by his organization and that of the members or clients. 10. He shall at all times be courteous, respectful and salute to his superior officers, government officials and officials of the establishment where he is assigned and the organization he is supposed to serve. 11. He shall report to perform his duties always in proper uniform and neat in his appearance. 12. He shall learn at heart or memorize and strictly observe the laws and regulations governing is conduct.

TEAM PROTOCOL OR ORDER SALUTE PROTOCOL ORDER 1.) Enlisted MEMBERS salute officers. 2.) New members salute Old members when meeting or passing. Security Team equipments 1. To take charge of this post and all teams properties in view and to protect/preserve the same with utmost diligence. 2. To walk in an alert manner during my tour of duty, keeping always on the alert and Observing everything that takes place within sight or hearing. 3. To report all violations of orders I am instructed to correct. 4. To relay all calls from posts more distant from the guard house than my own. 5. To quit my post only when properly relieved 6. To receive, obey, and pass on to the relieving me all orders from team officers or officials, supervisors, post-in-charge or shift leaders. 7. To talk to no one except in line of duty. 8. To give the alarm in the case of fire or disorder. 9. To call the superior officer in any case not covered by instructions.

P HYSICAL FITNESS FOR DUTY PERFORMANCE Far Vision The ability to see details at a distance. Selective Attention The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of Time without being distracted. Hearing Sensitivity The ability to detect or tell the differences between sounds that vary in pitch and loudness. Speech Clarity The ability to speak clearly so others can understand you. Time Sharing The ability to shift back and forth between two or more activities or sources of information (such as speech, sounds, touch, or other sources).

S IGNS OF D ISCIPLINE IS M ANIFESTED a) In a smart salute b) Proper wearing of uniform c) Prompt and correct action in case of emergency Discipline It is the training that develops self control, character, and efficiency and as the result, such training implies subjection to control exerted for the good of the group. It is the state of order existing within a command.

PATROLLING AS A MAJOR DUTY Patrol Church premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.Answer alarms and investigate disturbances. Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of premises. Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences. Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Circulate among visitors, patrons, and Church members to preserve order and protect property.

S ECURITY COMPETENCY REQUIRED Documenting/Recording Information Entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form. Monitor Processes, Materials, or Surroundings Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems. Active Listening Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times. Near Vision The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

TRAFFIC CONTROL TECHNIQUES STOPPING TRAFFIC 1.Choose the vehicle you want to stop. 2. Look directly at the driver and point at them with your arm fully extended. 3. Make sure the driver has notice your gesture,and then raise your hand so that your palm is facing the driver bend your arm slightly at the elbow. 4. Hold this position until the vehicle has stopped. 5. Keep your arm in position and turn your head to the opposite direction. 6. repeat step 1 to 4.

TRAFFIC CONTROL TECHNIQUES CONTD TRAFFIC CONTROL,LEFT TURN This turn are very dangerous, as vehicle will be turning into incoming traffic. You must take a decision about when to allow left turns depending on how heavy the traffic is and how many people need to make the turn. Use caution: 1. Stop the traffic coming from the opposite direction. Hold the stop signal. 2. Make sure the intersection is clear of vehicle and pedestrian. 3. With your opposite arm fully extended, point at the driver who want to turn. 4 Make sure the driver has notice you make A downward swinging motion in the direction you want the driver to go
