Alberta’s Revised Rules of Court QPAC Conference June 2010

Review of the Alberta Revised Rules of Court Project Project began in 2001 with a mandate to rewrite the Rules and Proceedings First comprehensive review since 1968 Partners involved include: Alberta Law Reform Institute Alberta Law Foundation Law Society of Alberta Alberta Justice Court Services Legislative Council Alberta Queen’s Printer

Improvements and Enhancements to the Rules of Court include Describe a clear, step by step dispute resolution process Organization of the revised Rules Information Notes Summaries for each Part Hyperlinks in the electronic versions Counting time explained Simplified page numbering

Next Steps in the Project Survey to determine the official published size and formats Statutory requirements in place Publishing of the revised Rules of Court Distribution of the revised Rules of Court Training in the Legal Community Adoption of the revised Rules of Court in force effective November 1, 2010
