Beginning to write ORGANIZATION SENTENCE STRUCTURE AND MECHANICS Before you begin to write, you need to know what makes up a written piece In this lecture, we are going to talk about: ORGANIZATION SENTENCE STRUCTURE AND MECHANICS GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY

Organization Writing starts with you combining Words  Sentences  Paragraphs A paragraph is a group of sentences about ONE topic. You can differentiate between paragraphs by the use of INDENT and skipping A LINE. INDENT SKIPPED LINE

SENTENCE STRUCTURE AND MECHANISM A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete idea. A sentence always has a subject and a verb. Types of sentences: Statement Question Rules of making a sentence: Begin with a capital letter End with a punctuation mark

Grammar and Vocabulary: VERB Every sentence needs a VERB VERB (=kata kerja) can be action words or words describing things that someone or something does, that creates change. Example: builds, drives, plays Or VERB words can also not express action. Example: is, likes, has.
