PRE FCE PROJECT ONE Pat Alegre THE PERFECT PARTY PRE FCE PROJECT ONE Pat Alegre

Watch the video “PENGUIN” by Filmbilder. After watching the video, do the following activities in groups of three.

ACTIVITY ONE Here are some statements about the story that are NOT TRUE. WITHOUT watching the video again, rewrite the statements to make them TRUE. Needless to say, you can’t just turn positive sentences into negative or the other way round. This is a memory game to squeeze your brain!

STATEMENTS At the beginning of the party, four penguins are facing to the left and other six are facing to the right. The waiter-penguin is wearing a tie. Two penguins reject the offer that the waiter-penguin makes them. The waiter-penguin cuts three slices from the bottom of the cake. When the waiter-penguin finds out that he has dropped a cherry, he throws it into a trash can.

STATEMENTS After the cherry is thrown, it falls into one of the guests’ mouth. One of the guests chokes on wine. One of the guests’ hat gets on fire with a cigarette. The penguin whose hat is on fire tries to put it out by jumping into the sea. The guest-penguins get annoyed for all the inconveniencies and leave the party angrily.

ACTIVITY TWO: ORAL WORK Is there a MORAL to the story?

ACTIVITY THREE Write a detailed description of what happened immediately BEFORE and AFTER each of the following images taken from the story.

ACTIVITY FOUR CHOOSE ONE OF THE TASKS BELOW AND UPLOAD YOUR WORK TO THE CAMPUS Create a comic strip about the topic of PERFECTIONISM. You may use MAKE BELIEFS COMIX (https://www.makebeliefscomix.com). Write a dialogue between the Waiter-penguin and its psychologist about the consequences of trying to be perfect.
