Chanel's fashion Impact How her fashion impacted the industry in the 1920's

Thesis In the 1920' s, fashion started changing and influencing women' s styles. A major  influencer of the time was Coco Chanel, a French modernist designer who revolutionized women' s clothing. The following slides will be highlighting the overall mood and tone of her works from the 1920' s.

This is what the typical woman wore in this era This is what the typical woman wore in this era. It represents trends because many of the women followed Chanel' s style with her "...slim boyish figure and cropped hair..."() which drove the 1920's women' s fashion taste.

Rationale The image communicated mood and tone because the style offered what every woman wanted at the time, its short boxy skirts were an essential style. 

This image displays Chanel' s happieness on a summer vacation, before openig a boutique in the resort town of Deauvillle.

Summary The fashoin influence of women from the 1920s started changing regular fashion after the introduction of fashoin extarodinaire Coco Chanel. It was something no one has seen before and was considered bold at the time, which definetinly made an imprint on 1920s fashion for women. What sealed the deal for most of her clothing was "… her own personal attitudes and style..." , which made her "… a key arbiter of women' s taste..."() She has had many successes with her boutiques in Deauville and Biarrittz, which flourished in the beginning of World War 1. Moreover, her clothing offered comfort to the wearer and an alternative style, she got rid of the painful corsets which made activities easier during the war.
