Great Marsden St John's 'Pick and Mix' Homework Woodpeckers Summer Term 1 This 'Pick and Mix' homework is for the whole half term. Red Boxes need to be completed regularly each week. Yellow Boxes must be done at some point during the half term. Challenge yourself to the green box activities. These do not have to be done, but if you want to push yourself, that would be super! Reading Read at home at least 3 times a week and sign your reading record every time. If you are reading your own books or books from the library, they count too! Create an alien and write a description. Remember to use adjectives and joining words in your sentences. Return by 1.5.2019 The Empty Box! You can do anything you like; a picture of something that interests you; write about something you have done - the choice is yours... Look out for words written as numbers. Carefully copy the number words you see. Return by 8.5.2019 Develop your throwing and catching skills. Play on your own or with a friend. How many catches can you complete? Create a map of your house with a birds eye view. Add a key to show details. A Family Learning Activity Sound spotting! Choose a letter sound and see how many words you can find that use that sound. Spellings Remember to learn to read and write the sounds of the week for the test on Friday. Talk about... Baptism, christenings and naming ceremonies. Log on to Pobble using the passcode inside your reading record. Find a piece of writing you like and leave a positive comment. Keep a weather diary for a week. How many different types of weather can you record? Create a treasure map and write directions to get to the treasure. Can you use left and right correctly? Return by 15.5.2019 Log on to play Prodigygame.com using the log in details inside your red maths book. Write a recount of a memorable day. It could be a day you went to the park or went to the seaside. Remember it must be in order! Return by 22.5.2019 Number Facts Practice your number target from your red maths log. This should be done at least 3 times a week and signed every time. Please tick and initial the activities your child has completed.
