Sin dealing with Romans 3:9-18 Sin is a universal condition. One that we all must deal with. (Romans 3:9-18), “What then? Are we better than they? Not at all. For we have previously charged both Jews and Greeks that they are all under sin. 10 As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; 11 There is none who understands; There is none who seeks after God. 12 They have all turned aside; They have together become unprofitable; There is none who does good, no, not one.” 13 “Their throat is an open tomb; With their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; 14 “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways; 17 And the way of peace they have not known.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” The significant question for today, How are you dealing with your sin? It is your choice. And with each choice there are significant repercussions. Romans 3:9-18

You can choose to deny your Sin dealing with Sin You can choose to deny your Sin 1 John 1:8-10 Isaiah 5:20 You can choose to DENY your Sin This is sometimes done by outright denial (1 John 1:8-10), “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.” Remember President Trump’s statement during the campaign? He had never asked for forgiveness. Of course, that indicated that he had not concept of what sin is. But, many today through actions or words deny their sin! Commonly today, individuals redefine good and evil. They substitute their own standard of right and wrong for that of God. What is sin is then determined arbitrarily to be good and wholesome. Homosexual marriage (The affirmation of love) Abortion (The right of a woman to make decisions about her own body) Assisted Suicide (Maryland state legislature, approved it, Physician could prescribed suicide drugs) (The dignity to make your own choice) (Isaiah 5:20), “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

You can choose to indulge your Sin dealing with Sin You can choose to indulge your Sin Romans 8:5-8 Romans 1:20-23 You can choose to INDULGE your Sin These folks set their minds on the flesh, befriending the world (Romans 8:5-8), “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.” By indulging their sin, they refuse to give honor to God (Romans 1:20-23), “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.”

You can choose to excuse your Sin dealing with Sin You can choose to excuse your Sin Genesis 3:11-13 Matthew 7:21-23 You can choose to EXCUSE your Sin Note first, that our knowledge of God makes no excuse legitimate (Romans 1:20-23), ““For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they [those involved in sinful depravity] are without excuse.” And yet, some seek to blame others instead of accepting their own responsibility! (Genesis 3:11-13), “And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” 12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” 13 And the Lord God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” Others seek to excuse their sin by good intentions! Remember Saul, who disobeyed, but claimed that his intention was to offer worship to God? (1 Samuel 15:15), [in explaining his and the people’s actions], “And Saul said, “They have brought them [the sheep that Samuel had heard bleating, and asked about] from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and the oxen, to sacrifice to the Lord your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.” Religious people make the same mistake in every age! (Matthew 7:21-23), “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

You can choose to hide your Sin dealing with Sin You can choose to hide your Sin Genesis 3:8 Jeremiah 23:24 You can choose to HIDE your Sin Adam and Eve tried to hide from God after sinning (Genesis 3:8), “And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.” It is absolutely futile to try to hide your sin from God! (Jeremiah 23:24), “Can anyone hide himself in secret places, So I shall not see him?” says the Lord; “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.” Of course, some are seemingly less concerned about hiding their sins from God, and more concerned with hiding them from men! (Matthew 23:27-28), “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness. 28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.”

Instead, confess and repent of Sin dealing with Sin Instead, confess and repent of Sin Proverbs 28:13; Luke 13:5 Luke 15:7 Instead, CONFESS to God, and REPENT of the Sins you commit against Him! This is the ONLY positive way to deal with the sins of which you are guilty (Proverbs 28:13), [Confession], “He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.” (Luke 13:5), [Repentance], “I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.” If you are guilty of sin, we and heaven above will rejoice in your willingness to make it right before God (Luke 15:7), “I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.”
