Commission Agenda Item # 17 Authorization to Execute an Agreement with Construction Resource Management, Inc. for the Reconstruction and Abandonment of Combined Sewer Overflow 150 Commission Agenda Item # 17

Background District owns combined sewer outfalls (CSO’s) to relieve system during wet weather CSO’s connected to system via diversion structures CSO 150 is 36” corrugated metal pipe at 301 E. Washington St. Located in easements and outside of easements on CRM property CSO 150 drains into a channel of the KK River Spring 2018 a sinkhole was reported

This photo is looking north from the CRM parking lot, you can see the extent of the leaning pole. The sinkhole is adjacent to the concrete barriers, partially covered by the materials laying on the asphalt pavement.

This is looking northwest from across the channel This is looking northwest from across the channel. The CSO opening is partially evident in the wharfwall. The sinkhole is approximately 15’ to the west of the wall.

Project Scope Reconstruct CSO 150 for onsite drainage Abandon portions of the CSO pipe not needed for onsite drainage Restore the wharf wall Restore the pavement and sinkhole

Agreement Agreement between CRM and District Negotiated terms for design, construction, operation, maintenance of system Transfer of easements Documents reviewed by District legal staff

Agreement District will: Reimburse design and construction costs CRM will: Oversee design, construction Obtain permits and coordinate with Milwaukee Operate and maintain the system

Project Cost/Schedule Request for $250,000 Not to exceed cost Agreement to end in 2020 Project complete in 6 months
