VMWare Why VMWare Portability - guest o/s exists as a file in the filesystem - migrating to a new machine requires no installs - share with peers - create one VM for new starters - share over multiple machines Snapshots     - prior to upgrades/new installs Enables Separation - Personal stuff not mixed in with work stuff - Multiple VMs for different versions of software - Multiple VMs for testing
