Presentation transcript:

Mrs. Wrenn Room 220 Week of: May 7, 2018 May 11: International Day May 16: Living History Reports Due May 23: Living History Posters and Costume Due May 24: Living History Museum 2:15 pm May 25: Field Day We will finish up our biography unit this week and start writing our living history reports. Our subjects have made the world a better place, and inspired others to achieve great things. Ask your child, “What lesson could be learned by studying the life of your subject?” Rough drafts will be sent home on Friday and final copies are due in school on 5/16. Some word problems require two or more steps to get the answer. Read problems twice, underlining the question and circling the needed information. Practice with this problem: I have $32. I buy a shirt for $23. Then I find $8 in my purse. How much money do I have?” Our chicken eggs will arrive this week! We are excited about the opportunity to care for and observe baby chicks, and to learn about the life cycle of a chicken. We will be turning the eggs and monitoring the temperature and humidity of the incubator this week. It will be important to use care and to wash our hands thoroughly. Ask your child to tell you the types of eggs we have in our care. We will start drafting our fairy tale adaptations this week. We will use all we know about writing stories, and start by storytelling our first scenes. Ask your child to story-tell at home. Check my webpage for information on the Living History Project, including dates and rubrics.
