T2 – Social Security Funded by OASDI taxes Retirement, Disability, Survivors (and other dependents) Quarters of Coverage NOT a needs based benefit

T16 - SSI Funded by FICA taxes Needs Based Disability (Newborn – Age 65) Aged (Age 65+)

Medicare Funded by Medicare taxes Age 65 T2 Disability after 24 months of eligibility ESRD, ALS, or Black Lung

How to file Online In Person By phone

Qualifications – T2 – Social Security File application Meet ‘insured status’ Meet eligibility criteria i.e. Retirement – Age 62 or older i.e. Disability defined i.e. Child benefits

Qualifications – T16 - SSI File application < 65 - disabled AND limited income/resources >/= 65 – limited income/resources
