TIME LIMITS Involuntarily Separated CONUS: 10 Days Retired CONUS: 20 days Involuntarily Separated OCONUS: 20 Days Retired OCONUS: 30 days The reason that 10 days are added to OCONUS members is to allow extra time for round trip travel to/from overseas locations and still have adequate time to job/house hunt.
USE OF PTDY Includes weekend and holidays May be taken in increments May not be combined with liberty weekends, special liberty and holidays. May be taken in conjunction with chargeable leave.
EXCESS LEAVE Is the term used to describe leave granted in excess of earned leave and advance leave, and a period during which the Service member is not entitled to pay and allowances. Earned leave is defined as leave accrued to a service member credit at any given date. Advance Leave is defined as a member with limited leave dates may be granted these dates to take care of family emergencies or urgent/personal morale matters. The max advance leave authorized is 30 days.
