Updates/Information from the Accountability and Compliance Team Elizabeth Self NC Community College System Office Director of Accountability and Compliance Training Email: selfe@nccommunitycolleges.edu Phone: 919-807-7224 9/13/2019

Information from the Accountability and Compliance Team Compliance areas for CCP: Students taking classes not approved in their designated pathway. Enrolling students in classes and changing programs/pathways such that students cannot complete a credential. High school students were not coded as student type CCPP. Ensure IRIS students are coded as T90900. 9/13/2019

Information from the Accountability and Compliance Team Compliance areas for CCP: Students did not maintain 2.0 GPA in college course work. College staff also did not follow the college policy for making satisfactory academic progress for remaining in the CCP program. Students did not meet the benchmark for the assessment for Career Technical Education (CTE).  Students did not meet the criteria for enrollment in a Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway. There was no documentation showing students met the prerequisites for CTE pathways. College staff were unaware this was necessary. 9/13/2019

Information from the Accountability and Compliance Team Compliance areas for CCP: High school staff placed students in classes not approved in the designated pathway, and it was not checked by college staff. The lists used by the different staffs showing classes approved for the pathways were different.   As students change programs/pathways, documentation of the changes is not maintained. Documentation provided for compliance review is unclear as to the applicable programs which creates an unclear trail for judging whether a class is approved or applicable. The application provided by the high school stating students are eligible for enrollment in the CCP Program does not agree with other documentation provided for review which shows the students were not eligible. 9/13/2019

Bi-Monthly CCP Coordinator Skype Meetings Survey results from March 2016 indicated interest in bi-monthly Skype meetings for CCP coordinators. Purpose of bi-monthly meetings: To stay more informed of upcoming changes To discuss issues that may be occurring To connect CCP coordinators with their peers These are not required, but will be your chance to receive more frequent updates and gain support for your programs. Mark your calendars: CCP Skype Meetings will be held on the 3rd Tuesday every other month Tuesday, July 19th 9:30-10:30am 9/13/2019

Other Business 9/13/2019

CCP Online Application Pilot Project Update A small group of colleges are currently participating in a pilot project to examine the creation of a separate online application for CCP through CFNC. The pilot project began as webinar conversations with participants in fall of 2015. Work with CFI is underway to develop a draft template for a separate CCP application. Once created, the template will be shared with participants for feedback. We hope to have a draft template available sometime in fall 2016 for pilot participants to review and make suggestions for additional revisions. The actual use of the pilot application will not begin until sometime later in the 2016-2017 year and will only include those colleges who elected to be part of the pilot. 9/13/2019

Other CIHS Updates NC New Schools/Break Through Learning is no longer in operation. Support for CIHS programs/Dual Enrollment continues to be available through the Joint Advisory Committee (JAC) - NCCCS, NCDPI, and UNCGA. The JAC oversees CIHS/Early College programs, the CIHS application process and the accountability of CIHS/Early Colleges as described in legislation. 9/13/2019

CCP Leadership Team NCCCS and NCDPI The CCP Leadership Team has been formed to better align the CCP work that is occurring between our agencies.
