Next, put your first and last name, today’s date, and this class period in the UPPER, RIGHT-HAND CORNER of the test. Then, you may begin. Yes, you may write on this test. No, you cannot take it with you today.

Standard: ELASE6RL2 – Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments. Learning Targets: Define the concept of change through the reading of a narrative. Apply understanding of narrative elements to reading and writing.

Language Arts – Work Session 08/18/17 Mini. Benchmark #1 Once you have finished your test and have submitted your answers in iRespond, you must: Finish answering questions 1-8 on pages 10-11. Remember to use COMPLETE SENTENCES! Once you finish, you MUST read. If you finish all of these items, you may add to the independent reading chart within your reading portfolio.

Language Arts – Closing Session 08/17/17 Independent Reading First, retrieve your “Notes for Reading Independently” that you placed inside of your Reading Portfolio (folder) yesterday. Each day, you should: Bring a book of your choice (on your Lexile level – No “Cat in the Hat”-types of books) from either the L.M.C. or our classroom library; Expect to read for 15-20 minutes a day; Complete 1-2 boxes of this chart per day.
