By 1911 Meir Dizengoff was head of town planning.
Meir Dizengoff was… Born on February 25th and died on September 23rd 1936.
In the year of 1922 Meir was elected as the first mayor.
He wanted to make the city bigger.
After the sad day in 1930 when his wife died he decided to move out of his big, beautiful house and donated it to Tel Aviv.
He did this because he hoped that one day it would be turned in to an art museum.
His dream came true because it is an art museum today and is known as Israel's hall of independence.
An enormous passageway and a plaza are dedicated for him and his wife.
