The Interview itself Starts of gentle – bit of chit chat Why have you applied? Why do you think the job is right for you? Can you tell us about your career aspirations? Then on to general and specific questions
Generic Questions Examples of being a leader – what attributes make a good leader? Examples of teaching – what makes a good teacher? What makes an effective team – examples? Best practice for teaching SJT / acute care styled questions ----- Are you safe?
Specific AFP Tell us about the research you’ve been involved in – what are you most proud of? What skills did you learn from doing your research? Give examples of different types of study design? (know the evidence pyramid) Give an example of how research has influenced your clinical practice?
What can you do to prepare Practice with a friend Think about the wording to some questions and ensure you know your blank space Q’s, CV and portfolio off by heart Know the subject material and the job description! Relax, be yourself and enjoy Never lie or bullshit
